Falck picks up a majority stake in Poland’s Starowka, a clinics chain operator

Nordic based Falck has acquired a majority stake in Poland’s Starowka which operates four primary care, specialist care and day surgery clinics in Warsaw and the Central parts of Poland. The clinics chain operator was founded a decade ago and has shown rapid organic growth above the expanding market for private healthcare in Poland.

Post the acquisition, Dr. Kamil Hasan Hadi, the founder and a key factor to Starowka Clinic's success, will continue as day-to-day manager of the four clinics. Starowka will be added to Falck's already existing healthcare business line in Poland. The acquisition of Starowka makes Falck one of the largest privately owned providers of publicly funded healthcare in Poland. Falck already runs 15 Polish outpatient clinics.

Managing Director of Falck in Poland, Katarzyna Czajka, said the transaction adds a high quality set of clinics to Falck’s already existing portfolio. This acquisition will ultimately benefit Falck’s clients and further strengthen its position in the Polish healthcare market, said Czajka.

In addition to its healthcare clinics, Falck has been running ambulance services in Poland since 1993 and is now responsible for almost 100 ambulances in the country.
