Mergers: Commission clears acquisition of Regenersis EMEA by CTDI EU

The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of the Europe, Middle East and Africa business of Regenersis (Depot) Services Ltd. ("Regenersis EMEA") of the UK, by CTDI GmbH ("CTDI EU") of Germany, jointly controlled by Communication Test Design, Inc. of the US and Deutsche Telekom AG of Germany. Regenersis EMEA provides repair and maintenance services for electronic products, including mobile phones, smartphones, set-top-boxes, laptops, electronic payment systems, industrial applications and medical devices. CTDI EU provides repair and maintenance for telecommunications network infrastructure equipment as well as other electronic products. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the very limited overlaps between the companies' activities. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. More information is available on the Commission's competition website, in the public case register under the case number M.8570.
