Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis to meet with the Prime Ministers of Estonia and Lithuania in Incukalns

Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis will go to Inčukalns on Friday, August 11, where he will meet with Estonian Prime Minister Jiri Ratas and Lithuanian Prime Minister Saule Skverneli ( Saulius Skvernelis ).

During the meeting, it is planned to get acquainted with the activities of the Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage Facility, as well as to discuss cooperation between the Baltic States in the field of energy.

At the beginning of this year in the framework of the Baltic Ministerial Presidents' meeting in Tallinn, the Heads of Government of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania agreed on the need to get acquainted with the strategic energy supplies of all three countries.

Within the framework of this agreement, meetings between M. Kuchinsky, J. Ratas and S. Skvernīne have already taken place in Paldiski and Klaipeda.
M.Kučinskis pointed out that, in terms of energy issues, it is important to continue the work on establishing a regional natural gas market, thus strengthening the security of energy supply as well as reducing energy dependence on the dominant supplier country.
