Prime Minister Ratas will attend the Web Summit in Lisbon and meet with Portuguese Prime Minister António Costaga

 Tallinn, Stenbock House, 7 November 2017 - Today Prime Minister Jüri Ratas is heading to Lisbon, where he will attend the Web Summit of one of the world's largest technology conferences and will meet with Portuguese colleague António Costaga.

The Web Summit will bring together world technology community gurus and seed companies, new and old makers from 2010 onwards. More than 60,000 people from more than 170 countries participate in this conference, among them, besides businessmen and investors, heads of international organizations and countries, as well as some 2,200 journalists. Over 1200 speakers, among them Prime Minister Ratas, will open the story of the formation of Estonian society and introduce the possibilities of digital countries for up to 80 top experts participating in the Summit.

Prime Minister Ratas will meet with representatives of several foreign companies in the Web Summit to introduce Estonia's activities and to find opportunities for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and the development of self-propelled vehicles.

In addition to entrepreneurs and investors, Prime Minister Ratas Interpol will meet with President Meng Hongwei and Portuguese Prime Minister António Costaga.

Interpol is one of the most important forms of international police cooperation in Estonia, where 192 countries are exchanging information in large-scale information systems in order to fight more effectively, inter alia, terrorism and cybercrime.

Prime Minister Costaga is discussing the state of play of the Estonian Presidency of the European Union and the issues in which the movement of 28 member states towards the agreements is difficult. In addition, there is cooperation in NATO and relations between Estonia and Portugal.

Prime Minister Ratas will return to Estonia late tomorrow.
